Marriages That Were Reconciled
Every hurting marriage can be reconciled. But not every marriage is. God is a God of second, third, and infinite chances to reconcile, but we have to do our part to be reconciled. What I mean is that reconciliation starts with "ME".
Am I willing to change from the inside out. Will I deny myself, take up my cross daily, and follow Christ as my first Husband. Pride, self-centeredness, and wanting it my way stops us from receiving the things Christ wants to give us.
Below are two marriages that God reconciled. You might say, "Oh that won't happen for me". My wife Penny and I have traveled around our country since 2006 and we have seen marriages reconciled after 18 years, 7 years, 3 years, and 6 months of divorce and everything in between.
What was their secret? Each couple renewed their individual relationship with Christ and then learn how to be married God's way.
It didn't just happen over night. They put the rubber to the road and did the hard and yes difficult work to change their old habits and installed new behaviors and attitudes that produce the spiritual fruit to glorify God. It can be done.
